Throughout history, with the emergence of the witch-hunt anomaly, victims who fell prey to human malice would crystallize into blood-red stones that radiate a crimson glow. Their souls, filled with resentment and unwillingness to accept their fate, would be imprisoned within, suffering endless torment and crying out day and night. If they are fortunate enough to be purified, those aggrieved souls will return to their original bodies, given a chance to rekindle the flame of life. But if they fail to receive timely purification, the bloody radiance of Oracle Stones will gradually fade, until it is completely consumed by the black taint of resentment.

At present, the only known way to purify Oracle Stones is through the power of the anomaly Blackbird. For more than five hundred years, Blackbird has diligently purified countless Oracle Stones scattered across the world since the witch-hunt era. However, most of those Oracle Stones are black, and no matter how much they are purified, the souls within can no longer return to the ranks of the living. All Blackbird can do is drive away the nightmares that have haunted them for centuries and pray that the souls who have endured centuries of suffering may finally sink into a peaceful slumber.

In the world of today, there is no longer any place for the witch-hunt anomaly to exist, and as civilization has advanced, the number of Oracle Stones has consequently dwindled. As the anomaly's power has weakened, Oracle Stones no longer carry the weight they once did. The Oracle Stones we encounter today are more often crystallizations of the malice within people's hearts. Yet Blackbird's work remains unchanged. Black birds still bring her glittering stones from all corners of the world, and she continues to purify them with the same devotion and diligence as she once did, until pure light envelops the Oracle Stones and one more trace of malice is erased from the world.
