"Welcome to my castle."
Anomaly Story
Edward D. always believed that a true haunted house should do more than simply scare people. Rather than relying on ghosts that suddenly emerge from the darkness or skeletons planted around corners, he wanted visitors to truly "enter" an exciting story. So, while still an employee of the Puka Group, he drew on his extensive experience with supernatural fiction and his fondness for vampire stories to design a "Medieval Castle" haunted-house attraction for Pukaland.
The castle had a master of its own, while visitors were guests who had wandered in by mistake. They would push open the heavy front door and explore the dim corridors until they reached "The Count's" room at the very end.
Unfortunately, the project was never completed as scheduled. During the prolonged pause, Edward D. also left the Puka Group, leaving his design unrealized.
When the Puka Group finally had the time and resources to resume the haunted-house project, they discovered that the structure left behind had quietly changed. Beginning with the appearance of a door that was not on the blueprints, it was no longer an unfinished haunted-house attraction, but a newly born Anomaly. It seemed to have inherited the designer's will, and its challenges within felt even more natural than the artificial stages initially laid out in the project plans. These newfound changes had the potential to make it a more competitive commercial venture for the Puka Group, so they actively cooperated with the Bureau's experiments and monitoring. After confirming that the haunted house, now deemed "Spooky Cookies," was stable and harmless, they agreed to guarantee it for use as a theme-park attraction. From then on, every visitor to Pukaland had the chance to experience a special, spooky adventure.
Spooky Cookies has always welcomed every guest. Perhaps, it might also be quietly waiting for the day Edward D. returns as one of its many guests.
