"Old soldiers never retire, they merely lie in wait."

Anomaly Story

The fairy-tale play, "The Brave Tin Soldier," written by playwright Cassandra, tells the following story: A child once bought a box of tin soldiers to play games with. Some of the Tin Soldiers are wounded in fierce "battles", while others are awarded plastic "medals". As time progresses, however, these fine soldiers are soon left behind and forgotten. Once the child grew older and finally moved away, the Tin Soldiers were packed up and abandoned, stuck in a lone box soaked by the rain. Thus, the once highly-decorated regiment is disbanded, and left wondering: "What now?"

The soldiers in the tale never found the answer. In reality, however, the "Tin Soldiers" did: they created "Bubble Cans." While some Tin Soldiers venture out to gather materials, others handle the processing and guarding of the Bubble Can Factory. The cans themselves are able to, somehow, seal away fragments of Cassandra's fairy tales.

Some believe that Cassandra's play itself created the "Tin Soldiers". Others believe that the Tin Soldiers were inspired by Cassandra's writing, and thus manifested existence and purpose for themselves. This debate has yet to be resolved, unless someone is willing to ask the author themself.

Nowadays, Tin Soldiers are an uncommon, though not rare, Anomaly. Most remain at the Bubble Can Factory, but those who are sent out to accumulate resources have been encountered. If left unthreatened, these Anomalies will avoid onlookers or passersby.

Characteristics

They appear as brightly painted tin can soldiers, but their physical durability far exceeds what tin should be capable of;

They often appear in groups;

The toy weapons they carry are as powerful as normal weapons, if not more so.

Anomaly Nexus

Remove the military cap and pull the tab on top of the Tin Soldier's head. If they are not defeated, they will continue aggressive behavior.

Risk Assessment

Low risk.

Containment Status

Four Tin Soldiers are currently contained at the Celaeno Compound. No guarantee is permitted at this time.

Containment Measures

Tin Soldiers can be restrained with sufficiently strong restraining devices. Standard methods include custom handcuffs and leg irons fixed to the floor with electromagnets. As long as they are prevented from using their weapons, they can be safely contained.
